Magazines tha Inspire

The interior design magazines that inspire me are the Interior Design Magazine which is commercial and industrial design which it shows you the new styles, ideas, news and trends. Another magazine is The Home & Design Magazine; it is really interesting to see the new trends in residential design. I loved to read about landscaping and bathroom design. Traditional Home Magazine shows traditional design that are pleasing to look at.

Inspirational Design

This furniture inspires me because of their simplicity but at the same time when I see them they have a warm felling. I would love to use in any of my designs since they inspire me to create a simple space that lets you relax after a long day at work. The style of the chair is simple but at the same time is casual which it would look nice and peaceful. In my designs I would love to use modern furniture but at the same time have a warmth feeling to the space.

Inspirational Design

This frozen yogurt place inspires me because I love the felling it gives when you first step in. I love the fresh look it has and how even though the color scheme is extremely colorful it gives joyful feeling. I also like the lighting fixtures which I think play a big role in the store since it accentuates the colors of the walls. The furniture gives it a fresh modern look and the tall ceiling makes the place look bigger that what it really is.

Project Spotlight

The project I read on a website inspired me because it‘s a sophisticated interior that emphasized the home’s architectural detailing without being brash or showy, so the team created a classic contemporary look. Starting with a serene color palette, dramatic elements of texture and darker tones were added across the scheme to bring impact to key features, which it really capture my attention since it’s really interesting how the classic style is keep but just a few changes could create a modern look.

Site Visit

The place I visited is Starbucks while I was there I noticed that people move freely through the space even though the arrangement of the place seemed a little bit confusing for some people. The tables are arranged with limited space to walk trough but since it never gets full it didn’t seem to affect at all. The employees are always friendly; they seem to like the environment they are working on. Even though I noticed that the working area is really small making it hard for the employees to move freely through the space while they are making beverages at the same time. I like the color scheme that is used but what I don’t like is the way the floor tile is arranged. Also I think that the tables and chairs don’t match the theme of the store. The layout of the place gives a peaceful look by the way the lighting fixtures are placed and used. Most of the costumers are college students or business people.

Metrocon

While I was at Metrocon some products that inspire me were the Feizy rugs, Jane Waggoner Rug Collection, and the Swedese happy collection, and Charles Alan. The Feizy rugs extremely captured my attention since you can customize to the color scheme you are using. Jane Waggoner Rug Collection was really interesting how the collection was made and how it’s possible to make it fit into your design. The happy collection of Swedese is really simple but elegant I completely loved it. The Charles Alan Couch really interested me.

Career Spotlight

The career that interests me is Lighting design since I think that lighting plays a big role in a design because it gives the final touch. Since, Lighting designers are able to create a pleasing yet functional ambiance within an interior environment by specifically selecting the appropriate products and strategically placing them to complement the overall interior design scheme. They understand the role of lighting in architecture and interior design and rely on their extensive experience and knowledge of lighting equipment and systems to enhance and strengthen design. Lightning design is a career that I wouldn’t mind working for.

Residential Inspiration

Residential design has always interested me. It really interests me because you get to interact with the client and you get to know what they like and how their style is. Then you get to work with them and make their dream space. Since I was little I would always try to rearrange the furniture in my house so that it could look more pleasant. The picture shows two little projects I’ve done. Although I haven’t been able to finish them but I think that they are going pretty well. One is my house and the other one is my friend’s house. I think it’s really cool to see how a project progresses and see the final outcome.
